I'm Manali Rathod, a B.Sc. Clothing and Textile graduate from the prestigious Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. My work lives at the intersection of traditional Indian craft and contemporary fashion — where every drape carries intention and every silhouette tells a story.
My final year fashion show collection — celebrated in the pages of Divya Bhaskar — explored modern draping inspired by traditional Indian textile heritage. The collection featured deep plum satin, structured gold belts, and architectural draping techniques that fuse the formal and the fluid.
I am actively seeking opportunities in fashion design, garment development, and visual merchandising — ready to bring a research-driven, craft-conscious perspective to any team.
Power & Presence — Modern draped silhouettes presented at the MSU Baroda Textile & Fashion Show, featured in Divya Bhaskar City Edition.
Inspired by the fluid strength of Indian textile traditions, this collection reimagines classical draping in a contemporary, gender-fluid context. Deep satin in plum and crimson are structured through architectural fold work — referencing both the dhoti tradition and the draped silhouettes of ancient sculpture.
Gold metallic belts and body embellishments ground the looks in ceremonial richness while the overall presentation speaks to working women and men who carry culture with confidence.

The MSU Baroda fashion show — themed "Walk With Pride" — was covered in the City Bhaskar edition of Divya Bhaskar on 29 March 2026, highlighting the students' creative talent in modern saree draping and contemporary costume design.
The article noted how students blended traditional Indian textile techniques with contemporary working-women's silhouettes — from draped sarees to power-dressing looks — across 20 diverse costume presentations.
Being featured in a major regional publication within weeks of graduating is a meaningful recognition of the quality and cultural depth of the work created in this collection.
A front-and-back technical illustration for the second look of the Power & Presence collection — the look worn by the male model during the fashion show. This sketch demonstrates Manali's ability to render detailed garment construction views with material, proportion, and finishing accuracy.
The design fuses a pinstripe structured blazer with a draped saree-skirt hybrid and a sculptural gold obi belt — a deliberate statement about gender, formality, and the power of Indian textile in corporate contexts.
Every garment is a collaboration between the designer's vision and the model's presence. Here, Manali captures a moment of pride and joy after the runway — the designer and her model, united by the work they brought to life together.
